Party Animals™
was a unique and exciting opportunity showcasing the whimsical and imaginative
side of the Nation’s Capital. The D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities
installed 100 donkeys and 100 elephants at various sites throughout Washington
D.C. from April to the Fall of 2002. Over twelve hundred submissions were
submitted to the Arts Commission to choose from. The arts Commission sought
creative designs from local and nationally recognized artists. Artists
were encouraged to show their true colors and creativity during the largest
public art project in the history of Washington D.C. The Party Animals™
exhibition was such a success, it was later followed up in 2004 with the
PandaMania public art exhibit.
